Where personal information is to be used for a purpose other than the purpose originally identified at the time of collection, La Maison Jean Lapointe will assess whether the new purpose is compatible with the original purpose in accordance with applicable laws. Any processing not covered by one of the legal bases described above will be carried out where La Maison Jean Lapointe considers it necessary to protect a legitimate interest, provided that such processing does not unduly infringe upon the user’s fundamental rights and freedoms.
8. Retention - How long do we keep your information?
Personal information will be destroyed or anonymized when it is no longer strictly necessary or relevant for the purposes described in Section 5 above.
In particular, personal information will be retained for as long as the business relationship remains in effect, unless the user has previously requested its deletion, and for the period during which obligations, indemnities and/or liabilities may arise in connection with the business relationship or the services provided.

9. Confidentiality / Disclosure / International Transfers — Do we disclose personal information to third parties?
La Maison Jean Lapointe will keep the personal information it collects private and confidential and will not use it for purposes other than those described in Section 5 above.
La Maison Jean Lapointe requires its employees and third-party service providers who have access to database content to enter into confidentiality and personal information protection agreements, or includes equivalent obligations in its service agreements with such providers, as described below.
Personal information collected by La Maison Jean Lapointe will not be transferred, sold, exchanged, transmitted and/or disclosed to third parties outside La Maison Jean Lapointe without the user’s consent, except where required by law and/or where necessary to provide services to the user.

LinkedIn. The Site contains links to LinkedIn. As indicated in Section 13 above, users who follow these links leave the Site and are redirected to LinkedIn. Users may consult LinkedIn’s privacy policy and other legal information at: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.
Social media. La Maison Jean Lapointe also uses social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram, and has integrated certain features of these platforms into its services. Users may use these social media platforms only if they are registered with and logged into the applicable platform. These social media platforms have their own privacy policies and terms and conditions, over which La Maison Jean Lapointe has no control or influence.
Finally, La Maison Jean Lapointe may disclose, and reserves the right to disclose, your information in the following circumstances:
Business transfers. If we or our subsidiaries are acquired by, merged with or invested in by another company, or if any of our assets are transferred or may be transferred to another company, whether as part of bankruptcy or insolvency proceedings or otherwise, we may transfer the information we have collected about you to that company. Users must also take steps to protect their own information. La Maison Jean Lapointe strongly recommends taking all reasonable precautions to protect personal information when using the Internet. At a minimum, users are advised to change their passwords periodically, use a combination of letters and numbers, and ensure that they are using a secure browser.
11. Rights and Procedures - What are my rights regarding my personal information?
Individuals may exercise, at any time and subject to applicable law, their rights to access, correction, withdrawal of consent, objection, restriction of processing, data portability, confidentiality and deletion with respect to their personal information, in accordance with applicable provisions of PIPEDA and CASL, as applicable.

La Maison Jean Lapointe may request information necessary to verify the identity of the individual making the request.
Certain personal information will not be deleted where doing so could prejudice the rights or legitimate interests of third parties, or where there is a legal obligation to retain the information.
If you reside in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area (EEA), and are subject to applicable national or local legal exemptions, you may have certain data protection rights in certain circumstances. Please contact us if you wish to exercise any of these rights.
Withdraw consent at any time. Users have the right to withdraw their consent where they have previously consented to the processing of their personal information.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, with or without advertising content, whose privacy policies are independent of La Maison Jean Lapointe.
